TE ARAROA
(Gisborne 174k; Opotiki 160k) is a significant village with a hotel and dining room. Abounds in Maori history, has a 600-year-old pohutukawa tree (= Te Waha O Rerekohu), the largest and oldest in New Zealand. Great fishing. Motorcamp with movie theatre, petrol, postal facilities, stores.
